Edge, the blockchain asset security platform and mobile cryptocurrency wallet, today announced a major update that allows users to seamlessly interact with multiple partners through the application. The version 1.6.0 update integrates secure API platform Wyre to allow users in forty-three states in the U.S. to purchase Bitcoin or Ethereum by using a bank account, verified by Wyre’s Know Your Customer (KYC) processes.
The update also welcomes support for Bitrefill to buy mobile top-ups and dozens of gift cards at over thirty stores using Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dash or Litecoin within the Edge wallet app. Additionally, EOS, a top ten cryptocurrency by market capitalization, is now available on Edge for users to buy, sell and hold in their non-custodial wallets.
We are thrilled to be working with a seasoned company like Edge who prioritizes user experience without ever compromising security. We are focused on equipping our partners with the compliant tools necessary to interact with fiat currencies.”
“From the very beginning, the Edge team has believed that crypto should be not just hodl’ed but also used. Our goal is to make more cryptocurrencies available to our users and increase overall accessibility by integrating some of the best tools and platforms to our product. Our partnership with Wyre and Bitrefill will allow users to buy cryptocurrencies through a direct interface with their bank account and purchase gift cards using digital currencies. As we start off the year, we’re taking a step in the right direction towards greater adoption of cryptocurrency transactions and we’re optimistic about what we can accomplish in the coming year.”
Edge Version 1.6.0 includes deep linking for currency and login URLs, allowing users to simply tap to pay with available cryptocurrencies and login to decentralized applications (DApps) entirely from within a mobile browser.
The update supports new language options including Chinese, Korean, French, and Vietnamese. Exchange rates for the Iran Rial (IRR) and Isle of Man Pound (IMP) have also been made available to further expand access to the Edge Wallet.
Version 1.6.0 of Edge Wallet is now available on iOS and Android.
