A big event is coming to New York this April, and if you’re a fan of NFTs you should definitely check it out. NFTs are blossoming into all sorts of things these days, and enthusiasts will want to get a glimpse of what’s on the horizon so that they can get in on the action.
The event will also offer NFT lovers the chance to meet one another and discuss common ideas. Critics have described NFT NYC as both the Woodstock and the Super Bowl of the NFT ecosystem. Buidlbee, a well-known source for crypto and blockchain news, praises the event as a “must-attend” for people looking to get involved in the NFT world.
How did it all start?
NFT NYC is going into its fourth year. Co-founder Jodee Rich said that the idea came up somewhat randomly in conversation with a fellow specialist when discussing all of the various myths that surround NFTs, what they are and are not, and how realistic a source of growth they can be. Rich believed that NFTs weren’t being given a fair shake by society in general, and that bringing together real experts who had success stories to tell would dispel the myth that these tokens aren’t a worthwhile source of trade.
Even at the beginning, Rich foresaw the potential that NFTs hold in terms of representing not only things like gaming tokens, but everything from brands to real estate and even personal identity. He really believes that NFTs can represent pretty much anything of value that people use on a regular basis. And he wants to instill this idea in others.
What’s in store?
NFT NYC has a history of bringing people together to discuss the latest trends in the NFT world. Tens of thousands of attendees from over 70 countries gather together for the world’s largest and most in-depth look at new tokens and the culture surrounding them.
Speakers will represent a wide variety of industries, including gaming, fashion, art, film, and more. Prominent names include Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin and Nifty Gateway CEO Dalton Caldwell.
People may be surprised to hear how much support NFTs have gotten from the entertainment industry. Indeed, celebrities from Shaquille O’Neil to Snoop Dogg to Jimmy Fallon have all gotten on the NFT bandwagon. Event organizers hope that these famous voices will help encourage skeptics to get involved and solidify the use of tokens more broadly.
2023 speakers will include many sophisticated experts on various aspects of NFTs. Topics will include the following themes:
- Web3 and the promise that it holds for the growth of blockchain
- Physical fashion and how it will increasingly digitize in the future
- What the use of NFTs will mean for the consumer experience overall in the future
- What Web3 will mean for the future of branding
- How NFTs are changing the world of luxury goods
- A broader look at NFTs and how they fit into the Metaverse overall
The event won’t just be limited to the discussion of tokens. As NFT NYC is branding itself as a forum both for NFTs and the world of digital art, there will be a variety of art exhibits featuring promising digital artists from around the globe. Works will be presented across some of New York’s biggest digital displays. including Times Square! Indeed, NFT NYC will be an event that will be visible throughout the Big Apple.
Also, galleries will be set up throughout the main arenas with works from contributing artists. And there will also be a separate village devoted to individual collections. If you are a fan of digital art, this will offer a perspective unlike any you’ve ever seen before.
Forming a shared global community
Perhaps most importantly, the event will bring both experts and newcomers together in a common forum for networking, exchange of ideas, and to establish a basis for future growth. NFT NYC is helping to build a global community for users, so even if it is something you’re simply considering, it would be worthwhile to check out. In addition to the speeches, the event will also include a happy hour and dinner for the participants where they can network and get involved in different projects.
