Paddock-to-plate traceability company, Aglive, and blockchain-based logistics solution company, TBSx3, announced they will be merging their expertise to introduce an industry-first paddock-to-plate solution that will strengthen trust in beef industries around the world.
The merger will see Aglive further digitize their food supply chain process, making it more transparent, traceable, and immutable.
The proposed merger with TBSx3 is bringing together a unique proposition of cattle industry technology and blockchain technology that will further boost the platform’s ability to safely store and share data.
“Farmers can prove that their products are untampered and of the highest quality by providing evidence-based data that solidifies the narrative that brand owners are promoting to consumers, such as organic or grass-fed beef. It has been our mission to strengthen the connection between farming and food since day one and we’re excited to bring this solution to national governments and industry peak bodies around the world.”
– Paul Ryan, Managing Director of Aglive
Australia alone has a national herd of around 27 million beef cattle and is the second-largest exporter of beef behind Brazil, with an annual production gross value of $11.4 billion.
Having developed its core platform in partnership with Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA), Aglive holds the license to operate mobile apps that significantly reduce paperwork and safeguard sustainable and ethical food supply chains globally.
Farmers and brand owners using the system can now not only work more efficiently but also track their shipments as they move along the supply chain using a unique QR for each item.
Alongside this, Aglive is the first to use an electronic National Vendor Declaration (eNVD) mobile application to integrate farm accreditation and management data on one platform, significantly strengthening the connection between farming and food and reducing safety issues caused by information gaps in paper-based traceability.
“We have a solution that is of national importance as it can protect entire beef industries from the risk of substandard, adulterated, or counterfeit product. We can help farmers and brand owners protect their reputation by proving their goods are clean, green, and safe products worthy of premium prices.”
– Mark Toohey, Founder of TBSx3
Aglive will be working to bring its solution to key livestock production target markets which include Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Uruguay, New Zealand, the European Union.
Aglive is integrating IoT (Internet of Things) capabilities to the company’s Austracker business. The combined platform will be able to track cattle from birth through life, then as products from processing to plate – making sure the products shipped under the right conditions throughout the journey.
