The Request Foundation, a not-for-profit developing an open network for transaction requests, has announced that it has signed an investment agreement with Gilded, a startup developing software that simplifies the accounting process for businesses that use cryptocurrency. This is the first investment made public by Request, through a fund set up to accelerate entrepreneurs that contribute to the Request ecosystem.
With its investment from Request, Gilded will further develop crypto tools for businesses, powered by Request.
“Cryptocurrency is one of the greatest inventions of our generation and is poised to dominate commerce once the proper tools, techniques, and standards emerge. However, little has been done to help businesses adapt to this revolutionary form of money. Gilded is expanding on Request’s lead in the crypto accounting space by providing essential tools like invoicing and bookkeeping, packaged into an easy-to-use app traditional businesses can understand. We couldn’t do this without Request’s blockchain invoicing architecture, and we’re thrilled to work so closely with the team that is building a decentralized payments solution for the 21st century.”
Request aims to scale the Request ecosystem of apps in a decentralized way and build an efficient financial future together.
“We are extremely excited to be working with Gilded. Invoicing is at the core of so many things, and a cohesive, out-of-the-box solution like Gilded will allow companies to start using cryptocurrency for their financial flows right away. This type of usable, skeuomorphic design is how adoption happens, and this is a great step towards the economy of the future we envision.”
