Japanese venture capital firm Global Brain (GB) has announced it has made an investment in Omise Holdings Pte Ltd (Omise), the Asia based financial technology provider through its GB-VI Growth Fund Investment Limited Partnership (GB-VI) and 31 VENTURES Global Innovation Fund I (31VENTURES).
Omise is a leader in Asia’s financial technology space, with one of largest online payment acceptance solutions in Thailand and South East Asia. It is also preparing the upcoming launch of digital value exchange network OmiseGO (OMG) and GO.Exchange.
Since establishment in 2013, Omise has been committed to its vision “Payments for Everyone,” through leveraging blockchain technology. Omise is trusted by thousands of brands from enterprises to startups across Thailand, Japan, and Singapore.
GB has been partnering with Omise for various purposes, including the Ethereum Community Fund, Ethereum Blockchain R&D grant pool, blockchain-focused co-working space Neutrino and so on.
Together with strong traction and presence as a financial service provider, Omise’s vision also aligned with GB which ultimately led to this investment. No details on the amounts invested were disclosed, but GB vows to keep working closely with Omise to accelerate financial innovation across Asia.
