Metaps Inc., a Korean fintech platform across mobile commerce and marketing today announced plans to start an ICO platform business through a new subsidiary company in order to further expand its business.
Metaps plans to register the new subsidiary, Metaps Crypto Gateways (MCG), as a licensed cryptocurrency exchange and then start the ICO platform business, which will be named “Metalist.”
MCG aims to operate similarly to securities firms in the financial industry offering a one-stop ICO advisory service while considering the legal, accounting, and tax perspectives.
Another Metaps’ subsidiary, Metaps Plus, completed the first Korean ICO with a successful crowdsale that ended in November 2017. Metaps Plus is now in preparation for the full-scale launch of its previously announced “CoinRoom” cryptocurrency exchange.
A number of concerns have been raised regarding the ICOs, which creates the skepticism within the whole global ICO market. Under such circumstances, publicly listed companies have limited merit to do an ICO considering the potential impact on the company’s reputation and its accounting uncertainty.
Metaps believes the demands for a safe ICO platform will increase and aims to take a role as one of the navigators to foster healthy cryptocurrency markets. Metaps is also considering to expand “Metalist” in Korea, Japan, Singapore, Switzerland, and Malta.
