Cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex which announced today that its new Ethereum platform Ethfinex is now live in beta mode. Ethfinex is a digital asset exchange designed to facilitate discussion, development, and trading within the Ethereum/ERC20 token ecosystem.
Current Bitfinex users are now able to access the exchange, with non Bitfinex user sign-ups allowed access from the 15th of January.
The Ethfinex team also informed today that Status (SNT) and Golem (GNT) tokens have been added. The platform now has a total of 9 tokens listed. More high-quality ERC20 tokens are supposed to be added over the next few weeks and months – subject to community interest and approval.
The Ethfinex beta will initially allow a limited number of unique ERC20 tokens, giving users access to exchange trading, margin trading and a P2P funding market. The number of tokens on Ethfinex is set to quickly increase as its trading engine is tested and matures.
Ethfinex also provides access to a unique Token Sale platform where users can track, review and contribute to a number of high-quality token sales, directly from their Ethfinex wallet. The first token sale available to be contributed to directly from Ethfinex will be announced soon. A couple of months ago, Ethfinex announced a partnership with blockchain startup accelerator Cofound.it, it is possible the token sale could be a project of theirs.
By enabling access to a large number of project-specific discussion and analysis platforms will allow users to rate, discuss and crowdsource information from across the Ethereum ecosystem. Project teams will be able to take charge of their own profiles on Ethfinex, setting up pages where those interested can go to learn more about the team, token, development plans and more.
Integration of the Nectar (NEC) Token
In progress, and before the platform exits beta mode (Planned for early 2018), the next few months will see the Ethfinex team finalize and integrate the native Ethfinex asset Nectar token (NEC) into the platform. This is fundamental to the long-term decentralization (and success) of Ethfinex, more information on NEC can be found in the Ethfinex whitepaper. The aim is for the Nectar token to become an integrated within the next 2 months.
