BANKEX, the decentralized “Bank-as-a-Service” (BaaS) enterprise, today announced that Steven Wasserman, Chief Executive Officer, and Charles Wyman, Portfolio Manager of a New YYork-based asset management group, have joined the company as advisors.
Steven Wasserman has over 20 years of experience advising corporations on mergers, acquisitions, financing, portfolio management, and private equity. Formerly a Senior Managing Director at Beige Group, he has held senior management positions at Rodman & Company and AMT Capital Partners. He was also named Merrill Lynch/Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
Charles Wyman has over 30 years of experience in investment banking, research, and investment management at Lehman Brothers, Morgan Stanley, and Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO).
“Joining BANKEX as an Advisor is an exciting endeavor. BANKEX is at the forefront of an industry that is scaling rapidly. The finance industry has the potential to be one of the industries most impacted by the blockchain revolution and I look forward to contributing to the success of this project,” Wasserman remarked.
“With our previous experience in pioneering the application of the Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC), we believe there is a significant opportunity to adapt the SPAC structure as a special vehicle for asset-backed tokens, connecting them to traditional capital markets and institutional capital. Blockchain should lower barriers to entry for asset securitization with respect to legal costs, security, and payment infrastructure.”
BANKEX is working to bridge the gap between emerging blockchain technology and traditional finance through the application of smart contracts and the tokenization of assets. The BANKEX platform enables off-balance sheet funding and chain finance on existing infrastructure.
“BANKEX is delighted to welcome Mr. Wasserman and Mr. Wyman to our growing team,” said Igor Khmel, BANKEX CEO.
Wyman and Wasserman join a BANKEX Advisory Board that already includes a number of technological innovators and recognized academics including Chris Skinner, Chairman at the Financial Services Club; Griffin Anderson, Founder of Balance3, a Consensys formation; Peg Reed, COO of Forex Development Corporation; Sergei Sergienko, Founder and CEO of Chronobank; Makoto Takemiya, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Soramitsu; Gabriele Columbro, Executive Director of Symphony Software Foundation; and Peter Crampton, Professor of Economics at the University of Maryland.
BANKEX’s public token sale opened on November 28th and will conclude on December 28th, 2017. BANKEX has so far raised almost $36,000,000 USD, with $20,000,000 USD of this amount being collected in the presale. 80,000,000 BKX has been made available in the public crowdsale, while 140,000,000 BKX is being held for institutional investors. The minimum purchase is 0.1 ETH. BKX Tokens are compliant with US regulations.
