Today it was announced that Netherlands-based bitcoin exchange BL3P from company Bitonic B.V. went live with litecoin (LTC) support.
The company has officially added LTC versus EUR. BL3P is built to cater to European users, thus EUR transactions with LTC will now be direct and more convenient for those who hold litecoin.
A couple of days ago, another popular cryptocurrency exchange, Gatecoin also decided to list litecoin (LTC).
Why Litecoin on BL3P?
The company stated that as SegWit has been activated on both Bitcoin and Litecoin, it now becomes possible to perform “atomic cross-chain” transactions between the two blockchains.
This is the main reason for Bitonic to add Litecoin to BL3P. Atomic cross-chain trading is a promising future application for blockchains and the company would like to experiment with its possibilities.
Litecoin is way up this year along with BTC, in EUR terms, LTC is currently priced around 63 EUR.
