It broke last night that Mr. Adam White will be the new Chief of Global Digital Asset Exchange (GDAX), U.S. based digital currency exchange Coinbase’s professional cryptocurrency trading platform. White is based out of San Francisco, California.
Earlier this month, Coinbase made news by informing the public and users they were the fifth company to receive the New York State Dept. of Financial Services (DFS) BitLicense. Currently, it’s the only regulatory framework that exists in overseeing cryptocurrency exchanges in the United States.
Coinbase is looking to add new cryptocurrencies to its platform this year, which will most likely be tradable on the GDAX trading platform. CEO of Coinbase, Brian Armstrong let users know these plans earlier this month when he asked on social media which currency Coinbase should add next…the two most popular responses were Dash and Monero.
Prior to being appointed Head of GDAX, Mr. White served for a year as a General Manager at Coinbase and GDAX. He also spent 3 years as VP of Business Development and Product Sales at Coinbase from 2013 to 2016. He also worked previous roles as Product Manager at Activision Blizzard, Consultant at Bain & Company and also served as a Flight Test Engineer in the United States Air Force.
Mr. White received a BS, Optical Engineering from the University of California-Davis, and also received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 2013.
